Taber Charity Auction July & August Dash for Cash

All supporters, donors and buyers,
Since its inception 25 years ago, Taber Charity Auction has proudly hosted the annual auction each year and through your generous contributions has been able to donate proceeds to many worthwhile projects, charities and service groups that make our Community and area better! Many of these groups and services depend on the money from the Taber Charity Auction as there sole source of funding. Some of these groups that have been supported in the past are:
– Central School Breakfast Program (averages 65 kids fed/day)
– Taber Handi-Bus – Safe Haven Kids Summer Camps
– MD of Taber Regional Fire Dept. – STARS
– Town of Taber Fire Department – HALO
– Public Access Defibrillation (PAD) Program (supports 50+ AED’s in the area)
– Taber Food Bank – Cornfest
– TCAPS – ATI (Alberta Transplant Institute)

As well as a multitude of other donations to other fundraisers in our area to many needy causes or individuals in need. As you know due to Covid 19 we have not been able to host the great event in 2020 or 2021. The event that you have so generously supported in the past, and sadly this has resulted in many of these local programs struggling and in danger of being able to continue as we know them.

As a result, this summer the Taber Charity Auction Committee is turning to all donors and buyers alike in hopes that you can donate cash in lieu of the past 2 auctions and to celebrate our 25th year, we can distribute the proceeds of this cash round-up to these groups at Cornfest 2021. No amount is too small, we are hoping to help these programs get through and then again host our regular auction in April 2022.

History of…

The Taber Charity Auction Group is a non-profit organization. For the past 23 years, we have held a charity auction to raise money for several worthy causes. An accumulated total of over 1.3 Million has been donated to STARS, Taber Emergency Services and other Taber community charities and functions.

The money given to Taber Emergency Service has been put to good use over the years. Examples of purchases are ice rescue equipment, confined space rescue equipment, carbon monoxide monitors, thermal imaging cameras, community public access to AED’s through the (PAD) program. The most current contributions for the community and the town consists of STARS, School Breakfast Program, Kids Summer Camp, Town and MD Fire Departments, HALO, Food Bank, Handi-Bus, TCAPS, Alberta Transplant Institute and Taber Cornfest.

The Taber and District Businesses have donated generously, and the Auction Buyers have bid very, very generously, making the event the great success it has been.

We are again looking for donations of saleable merchandise for our auction, or cash donations to run our function. As well, you are invited to join us at the auction to socialize and aid our cause.
